Not very technical here, but I have had Absolute 2s for about 3 years...love 'em to bits.

HI
www.soundcraft.com/products/absolute2.html

Any of those are good, but you really should check out the Soundcraft
Absolute Twos *see above - supernice, same price as Tannoy Reveals and
surprisingly they go down low to 45hz too. I have had a pair since Christmas
and they have completely speeded up my producing in that I now know how to
engineer the mix much faster due to their clear, honest sound. You know
where your going with it all, rather than spending hours being misled whilst
mixing and then the tune sounding crap on someone elses stereo...

At the end of the day, whichever monitor you get you will have to learn
their sound by A/B them with CDs and vinyl to understand how your mixes
should be sounding. Then check the mix somewhere else just to make sure your
assumptions made whilst mixing are going in the right direction.

Laters

Dan

PS - The Absolute 4P actives are beautiful, but prob at least $500, not sure
if they sell Soundcraft in America tho. Worth a look..

Subject: [dnb-prod] event 20/20's vs. behringer truths

i'm looking at some decent monitors, and my budget's $300-$400, so i'm
considering the event 20/20's or the behringer truths.  the tannoy reveals
only go down to 62Hz, while the 20/20's and truths hit 50, so the tannoys
are out.  i was wondering if any of you guys have had experience with one or
both of these models, and what you thought.  a friend of mine has the
20/20's, and i'm very impressed with them, but some people swear by the
truths... so if any of you have experience with these two models, how do
they do in the long run?  have you noticed any tendencies (harsh high end,
weak bass after a while)?  any help would be greatly appreciated, i'm gonna
A/B them at the store, but that time-tested experiences would help too.

thanks,

joe
