Anyone use these?

I just got back from visiting my mates who have just bought some and they've had
stupid problems with the sound they're getting out of them...

Initially they had them very close together (Either side of the monitor) and the tunes
that they did ended up sounding increadibly thin when they took them to another studio
in London.. Basically there was very little bass when played on any other system..
We spent a bit of time on Saturday shifting everything around in their studio and
managed to get them sounding a lot better.. (We moved them about 12-14 feet apart in a
big room).. This sorted the bass out pretty much but one problem remained... : On one
of the tracks they were using a sound with a high resonance setting (on the sampler in
Reason) .. On their system it seems to make very little difference to the sound wether
the resonance is on or off, but on the other system the resonance settings were FAR
too high and made the sound too harsh to listen too!

The weird thing is that The other studio had the same speakers!

So does anyone have an idea as to what's happening here? I can appreciate that if
their monitors were badly positioned then they may have over or under EQ'd parts but I
can't get my head around this resonance thing... My mate was saying that it's almost
as if some of the frequencies are missing from the monitors' output!

They're using a Creamware Powersampler in the PC which has abismal drivers and support
so I guess it could be the card but I can't see how..

cheers,

Nick
