Excellent idea on this. It's weird, in Texas, as long as it's not harmful to health (which when you produce, it's at levels that could be harmful?! come on...) I've had the cops called on me for playing my stereo at 1/4 volume (don't forget, it's a logarithmic audio taper pot) at 7:30 on a Saturday night.. my neighbor was trying to sleep. The cops didn't think it was a big deal and just asked that I turned it down. If they have to come back out again, then it's a disturbance of the peace and a ticket. Depending on the hours and the singularity of the complaint, wouldn't hold up too much in court. Especially if you sho Your flat might have it's own rules as well, for example, ours is do whatever you want before 9:30, after that, your neighbor has the right to complain. this is all in the good ol' Texas USA where you can shoot a man for pissing on your tire, kill a dog for shitting in your flower garden, and where it's still outlawed in the Constitution to spit on the sidewalk...fortunately the sodomy laws are in the process of repeal last I checked... dunno if they're going to give up on the lewd and lascivious acts of fellatio or cunnilingus.. >Good luck > >Peace > >Martyn >-----Original Message----- >From: mattrick [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] >Sent: Tuesday, March 05, 2002 16:13 >To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List >Subject: [dnb-prod] uk noise laws? > >the girl who lives in the flat below me is a nurse and so has to work >shifts. this means that most of the time she is trying to sleep during the >day, while i am trying to make tunes. > >i have been highly reasonable about this for nearly 2 years now, giving >way to her initial knocks on the door, and now her thumps on >the ceiling. but fuck it, i've had enough of bloody headphones in the day. >through the night, fine, but in the DAYTIME? > >it's not my fault she works stupid hours right? > >i am a dj and musician, and need to make music. it is what i do. soon it >will be my primary source of income. > >so my question is: if this turned legal, would i have a legal right to >make daytime noise as it is my job? > >i'm gonna go and shout at her when i've calmed down a bit, and would like >to know where i stand before i go mouthing off... > > >keep it frosty, >mattrick > ><http://www.sequential-recordings.co.uk>www.sequential-recordings.co.uk > >* >--- >Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk >You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To unsubscribe send a blank email to >[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > >********************************************************************** >This e-mail (including any documents which may accompany it) contains >information which is confidential and may also be privileged. >It is for the exclusive use of the intended recipient(s). >If you are not the intended recipient(s) please note that any form of >distribution, copying or use of this e-mail or the information in it >or attached to it is strictly prohibited and may be unlawful. >If you have received this e-mail in error please notify us immediately >by e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or telephone +44 (0)207 940 1200 and >delete the e-mail. >Please advise immediately if you or your employer do not consent to >Internet E-Mail for messages of this type. >Information or opinions in this message that do not relate to the >business of Windsor plc and/or subsidiary and/or associated companies >shall be treated as neither given or endorsed by it. >********************************************************************** >--- >Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk >You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To unsubscribe send a blank email to >[EMAIL PROTECTED] Pulse 8 / nKode / cacofone [aim:goodtimetribe] http://www.goodtimetribe.com --- "You're growing up.
