listen,
this is how it is done for the ridiculous heavy bassline:
I read this before from a interview w/ moving fusion and it works. I got the result i was looking for.
1. if you have an analog mono synth it works good.... play a real low note where its real bassy and smooth... a sine wave......sample that note.
2 . copy the note on your sampler. so you have 2 of the same sample
3. take the copy of the sample and distort it in the sampler by using the gain function to all hell.... plus 96 db.
4. make a preset and layer both the normal and the distorted sample.
5. put a high pass filter on the the distorted sample and play around with the filter setting till you get a real like scratchy sound...you'll know what i mean, just the right spot where it sounds nasty. now you have a smooth bass line layered w/ the same note, only distorted and filtered nasty sounding.
6. play a note w/ this new preset and sample a note of it. Now you can put that cool sounding note into a preset and play it like a bassline and filter it however you wish.
Let me know if you guys have any luck,
Rob p.s. send me a sample if it end up good.!
