Read a great little tip in Future Music's review of some compressor or another...
Basically, when compressing, the battle is to end up with something that is punchy (if that's what you're after) but that hasn't lost any transient details and depth... The Compressor they were reviewing (forget which one) had a button to merge the original signal with the compressed signal to give a kind of hybrid compression method.. Obviously you can do this with any compressor by simply using it as a send effect... Does anyone already do this ? It sounds like a cool idea.... Probably takes some practice to get good results though..
