Hi Mike, I think you want to try and avoid dithering from 48khz to 44.1khz as there can't be that much difference. I think it may actually do more harm than good unless you have very high quality converting software/hardware.
 
Stick with 24bit or 32 bit at 44.1khz; anything else is just a pain... as my ProMix01 will tell you!
