'cd quality' is 16 bit 44.1 khz, so if you have audio files recorded at a higher
bit/khz rate (as in cubase vst/32,
which can record 32 bit 96 khz audio) the file has to be reduced to 16 bit 44.1 khz
before the audio can be burned to cd.
dithereing keeps the audio sounding clean while reducing the bit/khz rate.
