you do have to send them in,with a 30 dollar fee as well.you can download the forms from the library of congress's website....it does however take about 8 months to process....if you are really worried,i would get your ass to dc as fast as possible...if you turn in the material by hand,even though it's not filed for 8 months as well,it is protected the minute you drop it off.
