First, compress like crazy. The bass needs to be a solid block of sound that doesn't vary dynamically (and make sure you're in mono). Second, it's about EQ and filtering. Mess around with both to give the sound punch/edge in the right frequency range. Try things like a very low cutoff and high resonance, etc. Sorry to be kinda vague, but it's one of those things where you just have to mess around, and if it sounds right, it is right. b ===== Brian J.
