you might want to pan each audio track in cubase,
sounds like instead of recording one stereo track you are recording 2 mono
tracks, so if you pan each track correctly then you should be in business...

Subject: [dnb-prod] Recording problem in Yam' DSP Factory

Hey Guys,

Someone must know the answer to this. I've missed Carnival (& the TOV night)
for the first time in years, trying to sort this problem out to meet a
deadline.
Just installed a Yamaha DSP Factory sound card in a PC, with the sole
purpose of recording audio from a Mackie 8 bus into Cubase 5.1.
The problem Im having is, I can record a stereo track without any problems
(using Cubase channels 1 & 2), but when I play back the recorded piece
through the card, its no longer in stereo, but in mono (it was stereo when
recording and monitoring from the card). 2 individual WAVs are created, each
containing separate information and the level indicator within the channel
mixer (ch1 & 2) and Master mixer clearly indicates stereo, but on playback
its in mono.
I think its a card problem, because Ive recorded audio into Soundforge and
the same thing has happened. What gives?Ive tried: Changing the config in
Audio System Setup in Cubase, changing bit rates, changing Output Patchbay
etc. but nothing. I know its a fundamental user error, but would be
grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
Setup as follows: Cubase 5.1 (non crack - lol), Win Me. AMD Duron 900,
256mb, latest ASIO drivers. (Same thing happened in my other PC, AMD XP
2000).
Thanks in advance.
PS Yes I have read through the Cubase manual & search the web.
