Now there's what I was looking for! Thanks for the great advice. That sample is really hard to work with because I can't split it up. I'll try the filter thing, and try to recreate it using my own sounds. I wish I could just drop the melody and keep the pad, that would be the ideal situation. I think I need to layer a pad of my own on there which I can keep when I drop the rest, then I can come up with some other pulses on the quarter or eighth notes like you said. Thanks alot for the help, I think all I needed was one or two fresh ideas to go after it with. You know when you get in that zone where you keep trying the same things and you can't break out.
