how to write a good bassline?
If your talking about melody, copy other peoples basslines and shift the notes around a bit. Whether or not anyone admits it, this is all anyone is really doing when they "create" a new bassline- not necessarily copying a specific one, but drawing from their understanding of dnb style, which is kind of like "copying" from a mental bank formed from every dnb (or other!) record they ever listened to.
If your talking about making bass sounds to play these melodies, take other bass samples from the internet or whatever and stack em. Use a low pass filter to adjust to taste, perhaps stacking a really low subby bass sample for punch . :)
