"- how do you setup the EXS24 sampler to use in Logic Platinum?"
dont know how familiar you are with samplers but, it goes like this:
'omni' out
- in the environment go to an "audioinst" chnl and open a mono exs24
- the sampler window (kinda grey and torquoise with green i think)
- click on the edit button.
- sampler editor window opened. grey with a keyboard at the top.
- click top menu instrument, go to new.
- i usually like to save my inst right after i open it
- now you want to add samples, top menu zone (i think) and go down to add
multiple zones or create new zone. multiple zone you can add as many samples
as you want by browsing. when you click done, it will ask you a question, go
mono?? something or other, starts with a m. multicromatic? then all you
samples will be lined up just below the keyboard in the sampler editor.
- if you just created a new zone there will be a new grey box in the
sampler editor, with a blue box with no text, click on that box and load a
sample
- now you have a freshly created instrument for the sampler to play, save
the sampler editor, and go back to the sampler window
- there is a blank black area just above the filter, it should have a green
'--' in there, (i think)
- click on that and find the the name of the file you created in the
sampler editor.
some important concepts:
only the sampler will determine what samples are played when different keys
are played. so if you have 'sampler1.exs' open in the sampler editor and the
sampler is actually playing 'sampler2.exs' then no changes you make in the
sampler editor change the inst being played...
you can only 'play' the keyboard in the sampler editor if you have that
sampler channel selected in the arrange.
you have to select new before adding samples in the sampler editor.
anywho thats only omni outs, ie all samples being played share all the same
fxs...
ill write a multi out in a couple hours...
sampler window is the

If you fancy trying out Logic Audio Platinum 5.0, just use Kazaa Lite to
find it... its very easy
I tried it yesterday for the first time and I was rewarded with a 'demo'
copy in about 2 minutes after typing in EXS24 (i was trying to find the
Logic sampler).
40mins later i was using LAP 5 working like a dream on my MIDI modules -
haven't tried it with audio yet, as my P2 450, WIN98se and Guillemot card
may be a little long in the tooth, but hey its there now, so any extra is a
bonus. Stoked
Andy - might not need that link anymore if thats cool ;-) Thanks for the
offer tho.
Quick question for Kevin Cameron
- how do you setup the EXS24 sampler to use in Logic Platinum?
Cheers
Dan
