Thanks Kev for the info on that.
Whats your laptop design (CPU, RAM, mobo etc) - do you ever run out of power on your
tracks?

Theres a site called WorldofSampling that is excellent for info on VST sampling, EXS24
and Kontakt etc, with good FAQs and reviews. http://www.worldofsampling.co.uk

I had a play with LAP5 last night and although my old P2 chokes on anything more than
a couple of tracks, I can see that with a new 2.5 gig PC later in the year, I should
be able to get rid of the rack boxes cluttering up the place.

I like twiddling knobs on boxes ;-) and I like my modules but the quality of the
sounds and ease of use i had with LAP, EVP88 and the sampler last night was sooo
refreshing - plus saving all your settings within the sequencer is great.

The FX, compr/limit dynamics etc were very cool too and being able to have like 5
EXS24s with individual FX for drums, EFX and basses etc and then ES1 synths and Rhodes
with the same is stunning.

I just have to save for a new PC to run the f*cker now ;-(

Ta for the info guys

Dan

"Do you use the FX in the Logic Platinum internal mixer to affect the

exactly... 8)

you can set up exs24 with multi outs and have different fx on each sample if
you want. i usually just have snare, kick, hhat, shaker, crash outs, but
then have my snare and kick channel going to one bus, and my hhat and
shakers going to a different bus, then to the drum bus.

Kevin -

Do you use the FX in the Logic Platinum internal mixer to affect the samples
routed from the EXS24 sampler - ie not need to do anything else externally
and then bounce down all the audio files to a split wav file for mastering
in Cool edit Pro etc?

Cos if you can use the Plug in compression/delay/FX etc on the sampler
sounds, that would be dope. I would need no other equipment and could then
sell the whole lot for a new high powered DAW - ha, ha....

New to this approach but very interested ;-)

Cheers

Dan

strickly a lap user (mostly)
use only the lap plugins too... 100% possible to make professional tracks
with the exs24/es1/es2/fx/all the other insts... 8
