Maybe he does, but Roni Size and his mates all used the Roland S760 sampler and a Yamaha MU100 synth (all currently for sale in Sound Control Bristol btw) for most of the V/Full Cycle back catalogue, but you don't see peeps clamouring for those eh? Trends come and go and so does gear, which is why a good sampler will always rule, cos its your sound...
Dillinja has been responsible for prob 3/4 of the d+b styles we hear today and will go on making trends, but he's only the man because he doesn't try to sound like anyone else. Its hard to not want to sound like the people we respect (i'm guilty of this too and it helps you learn stuff), but you got to make your own mark. Someone mentioned Dillinja used the Alesis drum modules, Rick M. >From: "Daniel Norman" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" ><[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: [dnb-prod] RE: Drum Module >Date: Wed, 18 Jun 2003 10:41:54 +0100 > >Hi > >Not sure about drum modules as i just use my sampler and load in the sounds >i want that are stored on my PC hard disk (ripped from cds, or sampled from >vinyl etc), but Alesis D4s are only about 100-150 s/h (check the Sound on >Sound Reader Adverts if you live in UK and make a deal with someone).
