make sure to create your filter sweep on a separate pattern than the actual 
thing being swept.  thats the only way you can get it to maintain its length 
if its different than the length of the pattern that you're applying the 
effect to.

 I have been tearing my hair out trying to get my head around something in 
fruityloops 3, I made a pattern and recorded some filtering on one of the sounds 
which sounds fine in pattern mode, but I want the filter sweep to be recorded 
over 8 blocks of the same pattern in the playlist and when I play it in song 
mode the filter goes back to the start position at the end of each block. It 
sounds perfect in pattern mode though...
 I know this ain't exactly technical language but someone pleeeeease reply if 
you have any idea what I'm talking about and maybe I can explain a little 
better.
