I think there's a difference between writing tracks and mixdowns as well.  There are 
some tools such as reason, or fruity where you might find it quicker to get a tune 
together, but once you're done, you export it for mixdown.  I know a couple of people 
doing this with cubase, and then mixing down in Nuendo...  Admittedly it's not the way 
I'm doing things, but it's whatever works for you I'd say.

I agree, use whatever tools you like!  However, if Concord dawn are so happy 
with Fruity, then why do they do (x amount of) mixdowns in Logics? There 
must be a reason!

I personally haven't compared them directly and haven't done any tests so 
I'm not gonna stick my neck out one way or another...

One thing I do know, Fruity is rapidly becoming synonimous [sp?] with crap 
2-step UK Garage and for all you non-UK heads out there, you *REALLY* DO NOT 
want to know ;)
