I think there's a difference between writing tracks and mixdowns as well. There are some tools such as reason, or fruity where you might find it quicker to get a tune together, but once you're done, you export it for mixdown. I know a couple of people doing this with cubase, and then mixing down in Nuendo... Admittedly it's not the way I'm doing things, but it's whatever works for you I'd say.

However, if Concord dawn are so happy with Fruity, then why do they do (x amount of) mixdowns in Logics? There must be a reason! I personally haven't compared them directly and haven't done any tests so I'm not gonna stick my neck out one way or another... One thing I do know, Fruity is rapidly becoming synonimous [sp?] with crap 2-step UK Garage and for all you non-UK heads out there, you *REALLY* DO NOT want to know ;) >From: Josh Steiner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" ><[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: Production >Date: Wed, 23 Jul 2003 12:38:40 -0700 > >ok, thats what i thought i had read. i really think people give too much >credit to the tools, within reason (not Reason (tm) hehe) a good producer >should be able to get good music out of crap gear. just go listen to some >old skool :) :) > >entitee wrote: > >>This pops up every now and then here on the list.
