http://www.soundonsound.com/ Quality information (UK monthly magazine and website)
The only annoying thing (as with most mags) is that you can't check out the articles until the issue is 6 months old, but they put some sample ones on their site and they have very good reviews for just about any piece of kit (hardware and software) that you can think of. Just type in e.g Emu E4xt SOS on google and a great review will turn up. Its also a bible for studio techniques like synthesis, EQ, Apple and PC notes, software, mastering and everything else in between. Not sure if they sell it in US, but you can subscribe.
