HELP!! max post per day

Im trying to figure out a way to set the max no. of posts per day a
single user can make.
Im looking for something just like spam_from_cross and spam_from_hits
except to be for a 24 hour period instead of a 1 hour period.
Also I would like for it to have a reply message when going over the
limit
so that the user knows they have gone over there daily post limit.
any suggestions would be appreciated.
