Hi, basically by default news servers have multiple mechanisms to stop old news
items floating around and creating endless loops because they are so
dangerous,
I suspect you are tripping over one of these, try the following which
should reset everything
(the history, all it's upto counters, and the limits on accepting
old articles)
In dnews.conf set
suck_maxold 100000
too_old 4000
Then type in:
tellnews rebuild_index
tellnews getold "*" 1000
And delete upto_*.dat from the workarea.
Then it should fetch any items it can find.
