Hi,

DNews will download the most recent messages from the group based on your
feed rules. If you only allow DNews to download items no older than 30 days,
it will skip downloading any that are older than that.

If the items missing are in the middle, it is likely DNews is skipping the
articles following the last update as they are now 'too old'. The older
messages remain because they have not yet been expired, or they are in the
last bucket within a pile (buckets are only removed when full).

If it is the new articles that are not yet up to date, it is because DNews
is obeying the limit on the number of articles to obtain with each suck...
manually issuing an update will cause this group to be added to the sucking
queue again and the more recent messages obtained.

You should not need to use the 'tellnews cached' command to get the group
sucking after a user has accessed it.

If you are seeing any behaviour other than this, please let us know more
details so we may investigate. Send dnews.conf, newsfeeds.conf, expire.conf,
and the name of groups that have this problem.
