The size of buckets depends on the size of the items you wish to store. If you have a lot of binary groups, the bucket size should be large. If you have a few low-volume local groups, and wish to have these expire frequently, then you would want to use smaller buckets. The default selected is based on your diskspace setting, and is adequate in most cases.
