Then why are you using De??an in the first place? The main value of Debian above Red Hat and the like lies precisely in dist-upgrade: that you can keep a system working for a long time, and it will do the right thing for conffiles, systemd-like conf [non-]handling excluded (per a recent debian-devel thread). Earliest of my extant systems was installed in 2002, its original hardware long since bites the dust. There _is_ a company that makes systems you need to reinstall every 6 months, but I don't think its name deserves to be mentioned in a polite group of people... Meow! -- Don't be racist.
