It seems to me that the schema and its expression as meta-zone data are
sufficiently abstract for a methodology based on per-implementation
(BIND, NSD, whatever ...) configurator scripts to be "no-brainer- obviously"
attractive.  I hope that's a sufficient condition for the worries you
mention not to be big ones.
