Well that's one solution. (Or using implementation-specific features
that modify responses based on query ancillary data or other
factors.) If you drew that conclusion based on the draft and the
thread here, I would think then that you are in support of the words.
You are discussing issues of "universial consistency" of many/all types
of records. I am concerned about the definition of "correct PTR
response".
A protocol can't be specified to give out "correct" answers because
it is impossible to know what is "correct." What if the
administrator has made a typographic error? Is it up to the protocol
to fix that?
The point is - the DNS ought to give out the answers that "make
sense." That's all.
