Yes, I tested this.
It felt weird first, because I always tried to debug and started from console, 
and it just worked.
However, the next time I tried it without the console just after restarting the 
machine, and shutdown worked fine.
So it's definitely happening only after some time, or after some specific event 
happened in the lifetime of Gnome Do.
