This bug is still present in 8.10. This is what I did:

  $ sudo apt-get install gnome-do
  $ gnome-do &

Then I enabled the twitter plugin and entered my credentials. But when
posting a tweet I see "Missing Login Credentials". Alex's solution
worked around this issue:

  $ sudo apt-get remove --purge gnome-do-plugins

This however does not invalidate the bug. An average user will expect
GNOME Do and its installed plugins to function properly after installing
the package 'gnome-do'.
