It worked well this time. However I have not tested
dependencies because the system where I installed it
already had all the dependencies.

I think that it is not the latest version from svn,
is it? E.g I see the menu there, although in 
/etc/books.conf it is USE_MENU='false'.

Also I noticed something strange about the DB
(webnotes). When I change the password of root
from empty to something, it stops working, when
I switch it back to empty, it works. In /etc/books
I see a different username and password for webnotes.
