This and everything that follows have pretty much been our experience
and recommendation.  Between the changes and new versions of DocBook
DSSSL stylesheets, OpenJade, and jadetex, we've hit a combination that
works:

OpenJade 1.3
DocBook DSSSL 1.71   (with the bug fix I posted 2001/07/20 at 16:08
                       to this newsgroup)
jadetex 3.10         (version 3.11 has a bug that I can't 
                       solve, posted to sourceforge)
