Isn't the part with the bar on the left of the code a <code> section?
Maybe I don't understand what you were showing in your attached image??

Well, in Galeon it looks like some of the fonts, really a few of the
characters of the font, are a bit fat compared to other chars.  The "w" in
"wget" and the "s" in panic% su.  Minor, but I'm not sure why it looks
better in Opera.
