Looks like the diff man page is not describing the right version of diff in /usr/bin and /bin, on 2008.11. In particular, the man page mentions -y, but diff complains if you try to use it. The summary output by diff also doesn't look like what's described in the man page.
I submitted a bug report on this, http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=5584 I wonder if there are others like this? And, how did it happen? Interestingly, the diff man page on my Solaris 10 SPARC box describes the diff in OS 2008.11 (no -y). -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
