Michelle, is there any possibility the that ALOM code will be open sourced?
It's very hard to piece together a mental image of a hardware/software design from a few cumbs of information. When I do a recursive, case-insensitive, grep for "vbsc" in the OpenSolaris source, I find just 3 references in 2 files, all of which refer to a "power off button". In all of the T2000 documentation I can find no reference to a power off button. Sigh. How is it possible to write software for an undocumented hardware implementation? (Sorry if I sound upset. It's just that I have this expensive piece of hardware sitting here at Sun's expense, just begging to have a complete software implementation written for it.)
