I think the guide definitely belongs in the community. Let's get it > opened up. If people wern't aware, weeks ago the URLs on docs.sun.com changed and referers were not created - breaking hundreds of Internet links (including links listed in the examples in /usr/demo/dtrace). Then last week the content itself was broken for a number of days. I fear what will happen next! If the DTrace Guide was moved to OpenSolaris, not only would we have better uptime but it would be easier for the community to contribute. I understand that docs.sun.com has a versioning process such that updates must wait until the next product-id is released; what we could achieve on OpenSolaris would be more dynamic, with a public feedback mechanism (mailing lists). On a side note - it would actually help immensely to know who's who in docs.sun.com, such as making an org-chart visable. For example, I know who the DTrace team are, and I've always had a productive relationship with them. I've no idea about the makeup of docs.sun.com. I know Sun has over 30,000 staff, and docs.sun.com is a significant component of Sun (as viewed from the outside); so does this make the docs.sun.com team over 1,000 staff? cheers, Brendan
