Hi Brendan, Thanks for this heads-up, we've requested that the re-directs be established, I heard this was a hardware change, but can't yet confirm. At any rate, it is not good and the best thing to do is fix the pages on opensolaris and bigadmin to serve our readers.
I would agree that providing the DTrace guide as open source would enable more direct feedback and more frequent updates, so I appreciate you initiating this conversation and I'll help in any way I can to get it through the process and into the consolidation if the original authors are game. As for docs.sun.com, I don't think we'll see an org-chart like you're talking about, and it is not going anywhere, and the team is tiny. Docs.sun.com serves all the products in software, and nine languages other than English, but the team is incredibly small--and I'd encourage you to not focus on it, at least I try not to. That's just the reality. That is opensolaris doc's opportunity. OpenSolaris empowers us to do something different for Solaris than static publishing, but it probably won't change that static publishing mechanism, so we should focus our energy here, on collaboration.
