Possibly as a separate topic, for generic multi-lingual dictionary or
encyclopedia, we have wikipedia for numerous languages, for instance,
http://<lang>.wikipedia.org/ where the <lang> can be your language code
such as en, es, fr, de, ko, ja, and so on. (And you can also select
the link to your language-specific wikipedia from http://www.wikipedia.org/
too.)

Some time ago, I went to the en.wikipedia.org and ko.wikipedia.org
and tried to search some computer science related glossaries but the reasult
wasn't 100% satisfactory. For instance, "absolute path name" wasn't showing
up at the search as I hoped. In some other cases though, the result was more
than satisfactory even though the explanations on the terms did not 100%
match to the Sun Global Glossary definitions.

Since we have such open and free encyclopedia supporting numerous languages,
I was wondering if people would think contributing the (translated) glossary
contents into the wikipedia and eventually get the data from the wikipedia
a good idea.

Once there are sufficient glossary data contributed, we could have
some specific web based retrieval tool at OS.o that will list Sun Global
Glossary items and also with ways to easily access items and also
inter-language (or at least bi-language) links so that people can find out
what is the language A translation for the item in language B and so on.

Ienup

PS. Also, look further in the wikipedia, I also found that there are:

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_glossaries

Alternatively, a place like the above could be also a very good place to
keep the glossary. And, of course, we could keep OS.o glossaries at
the OS.o too if we want to have some boundaries.

And, with www.google.com, one could do glossary search by supplying
like the following at the search text field:

        define <your term(s) at here>

The above however gave numerous results as expected.
