Bug ID: 70071
Summary: Compiling and Installing: Broken “Ubuntu's
documentation” link in Installing on Ubuntu/Debian
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.5-HEAD
Hardware: All
URL: https://httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/en/install.html
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: Documentation
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
The Installing on Ubuntu/Debian section of the manual’s Compiling and
Installing page contains:
> See Ubuntu's documentation for platform-specific notes.
“Ubuntu's documentation” labels a link to
https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/httpd.html which is half-broken, since
it just redirects to https://ubuntu.com/server/docs/
I assume this used to link to what is now at
https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/install-and-configure-apache
For Debian, https://wiki.debian.org/Apache is pretty outdated, but probably
worth inclusion.
By the way, httpd starts automatically after installation, so the second
command has been superfluous for well over a decade.
