Probably easier and more future-proof to use the built-in Doctrine 2.2+ 
paginator and program any conceived limitations of that by yourself. At 
least, that is what I would do. You cannot expect too much help for 
Pagerfanta on this Doctrine-mailinglist, I suppose; it is not the 
appropriate spot for it. Just my 2 cents.
