My point is that you _don't_ have to change anything in the database. You 
_only_ have to change your entities.

PS: I thing you're refering to the SensioGeneratorBundle, which can generate 
CRUD controllers. This is part of Symfony, not Doctrine. I've never used this, 
so I don't know if it can be told to use different properties/methods for the 
identifiers. You'll have to ask around in the Symfony mailing lists...
