Normally its a bad blower motor causing it to burn out.

The resistor for the blower motor speed went out once before and I replaced
it with one from a bone yard. Now that one quit. It may be my bad luck but
both of them went out after having the battery disconnected for an extended
period. First time was when the engine was replaced and the second time is
when I had the head off to replace a broken valve. Anybody else having
  problems with this resistor?

  Coy
