Unusual problem with my 1995 3.5, which ran fine yesterday, then failed to start this morning.
Fuel pump runs during the start attempt, and you can smell fuel at the exhaust. Only an occasional cylinder fires, enough to take the rpm above the starter speed, but it does not run. FSM says 48 psi fuel pressure with no vacuum on the regulator, like when it will not start. We measure 50 psi, so there should be enough to at least idle. Key dance gives 12, 21, 55. Oxygen sensor, plus the usual. O2 sensor should not be a factor on a cold start, right? The PCM should be using a table to set fuel flow. FSM says next step is coil or plug wires. So I guess it is time for new wires, and borrow a coil to test that. Anyone have similar problems? Anything else to check? Thanks, Jack ------------------------ Yahoo!
