Well, everyone, as it has turned out, the collision shop where my
Intrepid went for possible repairs has been flat lined. The body shop
put the repair estimate right around $7,000 and as you may or may not
know State Farm will only pay for repairs for what they percieve to
be up to 70% of the car's total value. So as they say, she's
been "totalled."

By the way, can any one give me some kind of rough guess as to what
my Intrepid could've been worth prior to my little mishap? I'm just
not wanting to be "low balled" by my State Farm adjuster. They seem
to use NADA but who's NADA? Is there one for the general public and
one we don't know about that the insurance companies use?

1999 Base Model 2.7
51,700 one owner miles (me)
Never been in an accident before.
No body work.
Excellent paint with mirror like reflections.
Excellent interior with no stains, burns, or spills. Nothing even
within the foot wells, either.
No major mechanical failures of any kind.
No leaks, drips, or blue "start up" smoke. (No sludge issues)
Oil changed religiously every 2500 -3500 miles.
All electrical compontry working.
Every and all purchases and services reciepts (tires; oil changes;
recall services; etc.) meticulously catalogued in a service binder.

All in all my car has always been characterized by my dealer service
people and friends alike that it was showroom condition. Excellent.

Anyway, because I have thoroughly loved my Intrepid I went back to my
local Dodge dealer where I got my first Trep to look at this used
2004 they had. Not very impressive: 32,000, hazy "spider-webby"
looking white, and scratches all over the black B pillars of the car.
I was ready to drive away and decided to just have a "look-see" (they
say those kinds of things down here in Georgia) in the back of their
huge lot and guess what I discovered? Not just one, but TWO brand new
2004 white SXT's! One has 319 miles and the other has 1,346 miles on
them. Anyway, the MSRP on the one I'm interested in is $27,000 but he
said they let me have it for $21,500. I walked away but I think I'm
going to return tomorrow morning and offer $18,000 and then go from
there.

If there's anyone who's got an R/T or an SXT model I would sure
appreciate some feed back from you regarding that high out-put 3.5
and any other things to be aware of.

Anyway, sorry to go on & on & on...

A I
