They're not difficult, but be VERY sure you have the lid blocked up with a 2x4 or something, so it will not fall down as you remove the old ones. The gas pressure in the hydraulic cylinders leaks out over time, requiring their replacement every few years, which is a big disadvantage compared to the torsion bars used in the 93-97 Intrepids.
