I don't see many actual "alternator" problems on LH series cars.
They're pretty robust.  Most times it's due to too heavy of a
resistance somewhere, and the alternator is trying to pull an
excessive load, killing it.  First thing to always check in cases
like this are clean battery terminals and no corrosion on fuse/relay
boxes.

Alternator voltage is controlled via the ECU.

-The alternator tries to charge the battery and cant killing the
alternator not allowing the vehicle to run at all. To me it seems like
there is a short in the electrical system, but I was wondering if this
is a common problem?
