That's not a valid test for an alternator....the guys at
AutoZone had no idea what they were doing.  To truly test
an alternator, it needs to be removed from the vehicle and
run through a 100 amp+ load test.

The voltage regulator is in the PCM/ECU.

Is the voltage regulator internal to the pcm on 95 and 97 Intrepids?

I replaced the alternator and the engine speed still drops. I 
changed it because Autozone tested it and said voltage was 
fluctuating...but true they tested it on the car not out of the car.
