Castrol should work good. So should Penzoil--any name brander. I say that there is another factor causing the problems other than the quality of oil used. Something else is happening, but in order to combat it, quality oil should be used.
If its sludge, then quality oil is definitely the solution. If it is coolant in the oil, again, quality oil will help also. If the PCV is faulty, causing oil to break down, just combat it with oil that doesn't break down so easily. Just my thoughts... I would love to find the real reason.
