Hi all - I am new to the group and own an 01 2.7l Interpid - has been good so far (touch wood) with 70,000 miles. I have come across a real bad back door squeaking sound when opening and closing the rear door. Tried lubing inside the door but can't seem to get into the area that needs it. When I went to the local dealer he said I need a new door strap (metal piece that keeps the door from opening too far and hooks between the post and somewhere inside the door) The new strap cost is $110.00 plus they want another$60.00 to change it. Just wondering if anyone has come accross this and how do you get at the piece that goes inside the door because it doesn't look that hard to change if you can get at the inside the door piece - just a few scres on the door post. Is there a way to lube it? Is there an aftermarket part for this? Thanx in advance - P.Braido with the squeaky one
