The modern day public has been spoiled by getting away with doing minimum amounts of maintenance on their cars. The 2.7 engine is a wake up call. Its a good engine, but you just have to do simple maintenance on them to make them last.
Junk yard 2.7's are very hard to find, and when you do, they certainly know how much they are worth because of the rate of failure. Ever run a 2.7 with the front cover removed? Ever watch the oil level in the pan when the RPMs approach 6000? You will quickly understand the importance of keeping the oil level up to snuff. Those who don't change their oil are also the ones who never check their oil level, and when they one day have a problem as a result, they will never admit that they should have kept a closer eye on it. There are also a lot of knocking 2.7's that aren't knocking rods. Just FYI. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Something is new at Yahoo! Groups.
