"The engine used a single camshaft in each head, with dual valve rocker arm shafts, a design that cut costs (relative to other four-valve-per-cylinder designs) but maintained the airflow of the four valve design; Willem Weertman credited this design to Chrysler’s John Hurst. Spark plugs were centered in the combustion chambers, and the intake valves were 35 mm with 29 mm exhaust valves. The engine was free wheeling, to avoid (most of the time) excessive damage if the single timing belt broke. The water pump was driven by the timing belt as well; the oil pump by the crankshaft. Fuel injectors were mounted on the heads, and the "....ITsays this about the pre-99 engines....that is why i want to find out for sure about the 99 and newer 3.5's cheers buzzy

However the timing belt on it broke several years ago and not knowing what was wrong I cranked it over several times while that was broke and it did not damage anything. So it must not be an interference set up in that engine.
