Yep I could not have done without the bladder on trip north in falke as I
only have 55lit fuel tank and as we did not have a BP fuel card so we often
had to pick up 2 x 22lit of 98 in town we stayed - actually I was amazed
that most towns in west Qld had 98 -function of mining industry I guess so I
guess you could say the bladder paid for itself in lower cost fuel. Also
one day we were flying Blackall to Longreach and as we approached Longreach
a storm was rapidly moving in and at 5nm out we elected to go back to
Ilfracomb and land at strip there. You guessed it villiage was booked out
for a wedding so I had visions of getting the fuel bladders and safety foam
cushions in falke and sleeping at railway station.

Longreach was a $60 taxi fare but we were suggested contact the Jumbuck
motel at Longreach and the owner from Bundaberg was reliving the manager.
He sent his boy out to pick us up (30min one way) and quoted us $130 twin
motel. Turns out he was a pilot and in past imported the Huskys into
Australia. The owner drove us out next morning and gave us the AOPA
discount without asking ($117). I was most impressed and He said "I am a
pilot and have been caught with weather too you know" That's good service
when you consider there was 2 hours of driving included!!!!. There again we
needed fuel so bladder came to rescue

By the way Our Governor General comes from village of Ilfracomb.

I have 3 more bladders left (bought 10) if anybody is interested (normal
price is $121) but as Nigel says $101 +post and they fit in express post bag
with effort. First in.
