When I purchased the special rod end directly from Hirschmann it cost 750 USD -
and they would not give me a discount on an extra, which I thought someone
else might want someday. Especially dissapointing was that after shimming and
torque it had only one thread through the mounting nut/"console". They should
have made it 5 mm longer on the threaded portion of the shank.

DAI sold me a less expensive alternative rod end which was higher strength
steel than the original but same design. I still have it in stock.

The original rod end removed from s.n. 3506 showed no signs of cracking,
bending or corrosion.
